After our old wood steps started rotting, we decided to go with the Confer Plastics version. It's much safer since it doesn't get slippery when wet. The 36-inch width is perfect because it gives you a lot of foot room, especially for my husband who has larger feet. Only downside was the box arrived a bit beat up, but the product inside was fine. Definitely an upgrade for our backyard setup.
